NY1 Renews Service Agreement
with DBS
New Multi-Year Contract for
Newsvan Operations
Time
Warner's NY1 News has renewed its serviceagreement with Direct Broadcast Services, continuing the microwave newsvan operations first started when NY1 commenced operations in September of 1992. The new agreement is for a multi-year period. NY1 introduced many innovative ideas when it first
began and Following the events of September 11th, 2001, NY1 added a third van, one equipped both for DSNG and microwave, which has been added to the agreement. This brings the total number of vehicles in the New York area that DBS either owns or operates to a total of ten. DBS provides for complete van operations, including dedicated
operators that are scheduled and dispatched by NY1, all maintenance,
licensing, frequency coordination, insurance and support. DBS
supplements the operators whenever needed, supplies a replacement van
whenever maintenance -- whether scheduled or not -- is required, and
replacement operators to cover vacations or illnesses. In addition to these basic services, DBS also provides a number of supplemental services for peak news and special event coverage for NY1. DBS has been providing dedicated newsvan operations for NY1 since 1992, for CNBC since 1994, and, for the time it existed, for WBIS. For more information, contact Leo Rosenberg at 845-267-2800. |
