New York
Live provides live news coverage and remote feeds in the New York area for foreign broadcasters, out-of-town stations, broadcast news services, independently-produced programs, and others with the same capabilities as New York television stations.

Operated jointly by DBS and QuickLink Connections, New York Live utilizes the Empire State Building for reception coupled with excellent connectivity. The result is rapid deployment, choices of connectivity for economy, fast access, and reliability with the vast knowledge of the New York area gleaned through ten years of extensive news coverage. And both DBS and QuickLink are frequency coordinators to ensure channel availability when accepting a booking.

One call to either DBS or QuickLink packages everything. With a newsvan standing by in midtown Manhattan, typical access time is less than one hour during business hours. Unlike uplink trucks, routing a signal to an area teleport allows access to virtually any Ku or C band satellite, domestic or transatlantic, without expensive turnarounds or "double hops." Without being limited to one or two visible satellites, booking convenient "windows" is vastly improved during peak news hours. Additional newsvans are available to allow multiple clients dedicated newsvans, or clients may timeshare a van for improved economy.

An ENG cameraperson and equipment is optional. A station may provide its own complete crew or only a reporter (and microphone flag). Or make use of this service for bumper shots and "nat" sound.

Each newsvan is fully equipped for IFB and PL, if desired, and can handle multiple cameras for major events.

And for foreign broadcasters with bureaus in New York, signals can be routed to the bureau either for quality assurance or for inclusion as a remote feed in a program produced at the bureau, and then sent via dedicated circuits.
