Complete, turnkey, newsvan and satellite truck operations
Microwave
Connectivity in New York
|
For broadcasters in need of full-time microwave newsvan or satellite uplink truck services but without the cost, overhead, or management dedication, DBS offers NewsFleet, a complete turnkey operation with features and benefits beyond the economic and logistic capabilities of most smaller stations.Starting with a newsvan or satellite truck designed to the station's needs, DBS provides the operator(s), maintenance, insurance, and assured replacements in the event of illness or vacation of the operator or if the newsvan must be taken out of service for any reason. Everything is fully dedicated so that the station maintains full control, full dispatch, and establishes the operator's shift. The service also includes design and integration of the van or truck working with the station's engineers to provide substantial savings over fabricator integration costs. Except for operator overtime and fuel, oil, and toll expenses, the service is fully inclusive. Our track record is impeccable. Time Warner's NY1 News has operated two vans for two shifts per weekday since 1992, plus one van per weekend day, with nary a loss of a story. CNBC also uses this service (since 1994) and reports in the print media have them beating their competition to stories, largely due to the expertise and energy of DBS personnel to access breaking news stories quickly. DBS personnel are first-rate, with knowledge of venues and techniques that have gained the respect of the industry. NewsFleet clients also benefit from special
rates for support services, including uplinking, additional vans for special
coverage or microwave relay whenever direct transmission may not be suitable. |
