Credentials and Permits
in New York City

Vehicles           All news vehicles, including microwave vans, satellite trucks, utility and crew vehicles are typically required to have press license plates and vehicle cards.
All DBS vehicles, including those of critical personnel are credentialed and need no further permits for breaking news coverage.

Personnel           Similarly, personnel are may be required to have working press cards.  Here, too, all DBS operations personnel are credentialed.

Non-Breaking-News
 Events
and Productions

For planned events and productions requiring  production vehicles, New York City requires that permits be provided for each vehicle.

DBS will secure the vehicle permits at no additional cost for confirmed events.  Based on the production, insurance requirements may limit the number of vehicles that DBS can provide the permits for.  The Mayor's Office typically requires 72 hours notice and coordinates with other city agencies.

Site Surveys           Site surveys are critical to ensure the success of most any project.  While DBS has an extensive database of venues in New York City, we encourage the idea of surveys, and provide them at no additional cost.  For site surveys for events that do not materialize or that are cancelled, there is a nominal cost.
