NHK Signs New Agreement with DBS
New Multi-Year Agreement Provides for Expanded

July 3, 2001 — NHK's JOHO Network of Tokyo, Japan has signed a new service agreement with DBS. The new agreement provides for expanded staffing and services as NHK's New York bureau undertakes an expanded workload and the integration of high definition transmission capabilities. NHK is the Japan Broadcasting Corporation, Japan's public television network. Their New York bureau handles satellite and fiber optic feeds between Europe, the US and Japan in addition to transmissions originating in the bureau. DBS has provided specialized management and staffing services for NHK since 1992. In addition to the services provided for in the agreement, DBS has also provided both news and special program services for NHK over the years. NHK's English and Japanese website is nhk.co.jp.
